Ha Long Bay - A world's natural heritage

The first time: Recognized as a World Natural Heritage Area at its 18th session in Phu Ket, Thailand on  17th December, 1994  because of its universal aesthetic value according to criteria of the Convention.

The second time: the World Heritage Committee unanimously decided to recognize the universal geological value of Ha Long Bay on 2nd December, 2000, at the 24th session of the World Heritage Committee held in Cairns, Queensland,  Australia.

In 2012, New 7 Wonders Foundation officially named Halong Bay as one of New Seven Natural Wonders of the world, this award voted by tourists and people around the world. Besides that, Ha Long Bay listed among most attractive destinations by Tripadvisor, 15 amazing rock formations by BBC or  the world's 10 most dramatic coastlines by famous American online news site Huffington Post.

Time to go:
You can visit Halong all year around.  The sea and sky are blue and the water is warm from May - October which is best to take nice photos, enjoy swimming or kayaking. However, it is stormy sometimes, and the boats are not allowed to go out. From November - April, it can be a bit chilly and misty, but Halong bay is always nice and worth seeing.

What to see and do:
