Commercial flights with Japan, Korea, and Taiwan are resumed from this July.

In an effort to revive the tourism industry that has been affected by the pandemic, Vietnam may resume regular commercial flights with Japan, South Korea and Taiwan (China).

After thorough research on the vaccination results and the application of "vaccine passport" (digital green card and IATA passport in the world), CAAV proposed to reopen international routes and be divided into do three phases.

In the first phase, Vietnam gives priority to allowing Vietnamese to enter and pay a full package for air tickets, Covid testing, 15-day quarantine and three meals a day at quarantine points.

In the second phase, the airlines will fly to Japan, Korea and Taiwan (China) with a frequency of 4 flights / week in each direction. They must submit flight plans, including a local quarantine scheme approved by the competent authority, starting this July. During this phase, the arrival passenger must pay the same complete package as in the first stage.

The third phase is proposed to take place from September. Based on the immunization evaluation of the worldwide vaccination campaign, Vietnamese airlines will fly to countries to recognize the effectiveness of vaccination in Vietnam with a frequency of 7 flights / week in each direction.

This phase will not require concentrated isolation for passengers certified negative for SARS-CoV-2 after undergoing a Real Time PCR test three or five days prior to entry into Vietnam or those who holders of a government-approved International Immunization Certificate. or WHO certified health facilities.

After entering, passengers must declare to the local authorities where they live and quarantine themselves at the accommodation for 7-14 days according to the guidance of the Ministry of Health.

Passengers without any certification of immunity to SARS-CoV-2 are required to stay on quarantine for 14 days at their own expense (same as applicable early stage passengers).
