From May 15, people entering the country are not required to be tested for Covid-19

Vietnam temporarily suspends the requirement for Covid-19 testing for people entering the country from 0:00 on May 15, according to the direction of the Prime Minister.

According to the telegram dated May 13, the Prime Minister asked the Ministry of Health to closely monitor the epidemic situation for appropriate guidance. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs directs Vietnamese agencies abroad to notify people wishing to enter the country to comply with anti-epidemic requirements according to instructions.

According to the regulations of the Ministry of Health, people entering Vietnam by air, road, waterway, railway need a negative test result for nCoV by PCR within 72 hours; if it is a quick test within 24 hours.

In case there is no test, in the first 24 hours from the time of entry, from the border gate to the place of residence (hotel, private house...) it is necessary to limit stopping and contacting with other people. After having a negative test result, they are free to travel. Children under 2 years old are not required to be tested and are accompanied by parents, relatives...

On May 6, the Research Board for Private Economic Development proposed to remove the requirement that international visitors to Vietnam must have a negative test because of hindering the opening of tourism.

Previously, on April 27, the Ministry of Health lifted the regulation to stop making medical declarations for people on entry.
