Vietnam is one of the first countries that stepped up its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The virus put intense challenges to the Vietnam tourism industry and normal life. The authorities have put a lot of restrictions, with a focus on social distancing and maintaining personal hygiene. So far fight against COVID-19 has been successful because of the wholehearted support from the community, and Vietnam was successful in controlling the pandemic.

End of curbs and social distancing:
On April 23rd Vietnam lifted its curbs on social distancing. The country is in a strong position to protect both locals and tourists from the deadly pandemic.  Vietnam is safe as COVID-19 has successfully brought under control with proper health facilities. Public places and tourist destinations observe social distancing and gatherings restricted to just 20 people.

Post Covid-19, tourists entering Vietnam need to undergo a medical check-up. Tourists can visit Vietnam by adhering to the new health protocol and sanitization formalities.  The protocol includes washing hands often, maintaining social distancing while visiting tourist destinations.  Wearing a face mask is inevitable while moving around in Vietnam. Services, bars, hotels, public transportation, monuments, government offices, tourist locations, and flights are open in Vietnam.

How to reach Vietnam:
Vietnam has 10 international airports. Tourists who are planning to enter the country through the following 3international airports;Tan Son Nhat (Ho Chi Minh City), Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi), Danang Airport (Da Nang), can use Visa on Arrival facilities. These airports have excellent connectivity to different parts of the world.
Vietnam also enables a free movement with regular bus services to Vietnam from Laos and Cambodia Terminuses. Tourists on these buses need to produce a valid visa.

Another way to reach Vietnam is by trains that connect you from stations in Beijing and Nanning, China.

You can also reach Vietnam through the sea by getting on tour cruises or ferries at the Cambodia docks. These ferries take you via the Mekong Delta to Vietnam.

Visa requisites:
To enter Vietnam, every tourist must have a visa and a passport with a minimum of 6-month validity. Vietnam also offers visa exemption, and many Asian countries and African countries fall under visa exempted category. European and North American required a visa to enter Vietnam.

For simplifying the visa formalities, Vietnam is offering a visa on arrival and visa before landing. Citizens from visa exempted countries can land Vietnam without a pre-approved visa. Those tourists who are eligible to apply for a visa on arrival can apply for the visa online by paying the required fee. Visa prior to arrival needs to apply at the respective embassies of the country of the applicant.

The online application fee is around US$ 8 for 1 month and $15 for 3 months, and the stamping fee will be $25 for a single entry. For multiple entries, the fee is US$20 for 1 month and $65 for 3 months, and the stamping fee is US$50. These rates are subject to changes, and before you travel to Vietnam, get the visa rates re-confirmed directly with the Vietnam Immigration Department or at Vietnamvisaprovider

Medical declaration:
COVID-19 enforced some changes in the entry formalities. As per the new rule, all passengers visiting Vietnam must submit a medical declaration to the immigration officer along with the Visa on arrival intimation. Many travel agents are offering these services, so consulting your travel agent can reduce the burden of producing the medical declaration.

Some Places to visit in Vietnam:

Ha Long Bay – the land of limestone islands
Ha Long Bay is the perfect place for long cruises or ferries as ittakes you through the magnificent limestone rock formations.
