Optional tours from Sapa

Sapa is the most beautiful mountain town in Vietnam where tourists come to see amazing rice terraces from June - October, enjoy cool air in Summer, take photos or learn about the life and culture of several ethnic groups living in the area.

If you have a chance to visit Sapa, we have some suggested optional tours in Sapa as below:

1. Visit Cat Cat village - This Black H'Mong village is just 1km from Sapa town and located at the foot of the highest peak in Vietnam - The Fansipan. Walking tour to this village, tourists have opportunity to welcomed to visit one of the families to learn about their life and tradition. Cat Cat waterfall is a nice spot for photos and refresh during your walk. The tour to Cat Cat and back takes you around 2 hours.

2. Ma Tra village - Located just around 3 km from Sapa town, Ma Tra is another village of the Black H'Mong minority. The village is less - visited and good for leisure walk to enjoy spectacular view of mountains and rice terraces. If you have more time, continue your walking tour to Ta Phin village of the Red Dao minority, but it is too commercial in this village. 

3. Silver Waterfall and Heaven Gate - 12km from Sapa town, these two places created a half day tour to see the nicest waterfall in Sapa and the Heaven Gate offer breathtaking view toward imposing valley and mountains.

4. Lao Chai and Ta Van village - Located in the valley of Muong Hoa, this is the most stunning tour in Sapa. Best place in Sapa to see wonderful rice terraces, to hike or to experience homestay with the local.

5. Visit local markets
Market in Sapa opens everyday and it is worth visiting. However, if you have time and want to see unique mountain market of the ethnic groups. Below are our suggestions.

- Bac Ha market on Sunday only - 100km from Sapa
- Can Cau Market on Saturday only - 125 km from Sapa
- Coc Ly market on Tuesday only - around 80km from Sapa
- Muong Hum market on Sunday only - around 80km from Sapa
- Cao Son Market on Wednesday only - around 110 km from Sapa

The markets are like the festivals where the ethnic groups meet once a week to trade, to meet old friends, to drink, etc. Market tour is highly recommended to combine with Sapa to make Sapa tour a memorable experience.
